(More customer reviews)This is such a cool idea and I was really hoping it would work for my 27 ft above ground pool, but it did not make any difference. You can see that the chemical has drained correctly and it leaves a shiny film on the pool, but that is the extent of it. This did not help my pool temperature at all. I was hoping for it to help even a few degrees warmer, but it did not even do that. Just not a worthwhile product.

(More customer reviews)I ordered 16 Solar Sun Rings for my pool and quickly discovered they are poorly designed, shoddily made and worthless. These items must be inflated and have 2 air pockets/ring. The welds are poorly done -- on one ring had a seam clearly not welded and open, most other rings leaked air slowly. Almost 40% had air leaks after one week. The materials are of very low quality -- a cheap child's toy costing around $5.00 at Walmart is better made. The design is also flawed. A slight breeze causes them to bunch together. The manufacturer suggested letting more air out but several rings were already partially under water and sinking! Without a doubt, this is one of the worst products I have ever seen. The 2 year warranty is a joke -- no refunds from the manufacturer, only replacements, and the supplier also refused (initially) to give a refund. it took the great services of Amazon and lots of e mail activity too finally get the refund. I strongly urge prospective buyers to check this product out carefully before buying -- it really is worthless!

(More customer reviews)The solar panels work, but don't buy the diverter unless you have to! I put it together and took it apart multiple times because it was the only thing that leaked after I had the entire system set up. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but its pretty simple to put together. One thing, don't be fooled by the photos. The panels will not set up nicely against the side of your pool by themselves like the promo pictures show. (Unless someone out there knows a trick) and no one out there sells racks pre-made, so you will have to make due with placing the panels at an angle against the pool the best you can or on the ground. But in one day, with one set of 4x10ft (that's all I have room for), the temperature of the pool with the use of a solar cover, went up 5 degrees with the pump only running about 6 hours.

Each panel is supposed to put out 40k BTU, so each set = 80k BTU
Multiply x4 sets = 320,000 BTU
I only have 5 panels installed now
I'm located about 20 miles south of Boston, MA
My pool was 55 degrees 5 days before Memorial Day
On Memorial day the pool was 76 degrees
Today the pool was right around 88 degrees
I have the panels setup in 2 systems
1st 2 panels are connected to the pool pump & filter & can be easily bypassed
I can also divert the water into a hot tub, which is also solar heated
The next 3 panels are setup with a seperate pump ~500gph
Each set is on a different side of the pool
This maximixes the solar heat thru the day
These systems are very easy to setup & connect
I've hads mine running since 2005...free heat every year
Longer swimming season & more comfortable
I have 2 hot tubs that are solar heated
The one by the pool I usually divert water from the pool to keep it below 98
Extra water/heat goes to the pool
The 2nd tub is by the house & tops out at 110 if I run it all day
I only run it for a few hours every other day now
I bought several sets off EBAY -$125 for (2) 2'x20' panels
I have an inground pool, these are labeled for above ground
But they work just fine....don't pay extra for the "inground" panels

A total waste -- they do NOT raise the water temperature, in fact, it seems as if they keep it from getting warmer when they are on the pool on a sunny day. My pool has been UP to 80 degrees 2 days - all other days mid-seventies. I have not noticed any less evaporation of water or chemicals either. The rings also collect dirt and pool chemicals which must be cleaned off every few days. Then when you take the rings off the pool, you must store them flat, out of the sun, someplace where they won't be punctured. They are very flimsy -- like a cheap toy float material. Definitely not worth the price or the aggravation.

AquaQuik 4512 Solar Heater Review

(More customer reviews)Purchased the AquaLivin' Solar Heater and it burst apart at the seams within a week of installing it. Also, the heater is designed with fittings that the water hose fits on. Water leaks out of both fittings where the fitting fits onto the body of the heater....should have been designed to where the fitting was molded into the body.
The heater has a clear dome that goes over the top of the unit. On the third day I noticed that the clear dome kept popping off of the heater when the pump was on...when the pump was off it would fit perfectly. About two days later the heater burst at the seam. Luckily my pool pump didn't burn up when all of my water drained out down to the skimmer.
If you do purchase one of these always keep an eye on the clear dome to make sure it doesn't pop off...this is a sign it may be getting ready to burst.
The company was very good about sending me a replacement. I haven't installed the replacement yet.
