PLEASE READ:There is no industry standard for Unions. The various brands have their own unique style, which means you must use the unions provided with our spa pump. This will most likely involve cutting off your old unions and installing the new ones shipped with the spa pump.If your heater is directly coupled to the spa wet end, then our pump will probably not work as the union will most likely be different. Be sure to look at the motor voltage, not the voltage supplied to the spa to determine the correct pump voltage.When removing power cord from existing pump we recommend you mark your wires for "common", "High speed", "low speed".The pump does not come with a power cord. The connection diagram for the new pump is located on the motor name plate.The wet ends can be rotated by simply loosening the motor thru bolts and turning the pump head, allowing the discharge to point to 3 O'clock, 9 O'clock or 6 O'clock.Not Self Priming - Water must be above pump head in order to operate properly. 1.5" refers to the size of your PVC plumbing supply lines. They make plenty of hot water and save money month-to-month over the standard hot water heater because they make only the hot water that you use and don't keep re-heating a tank full of hot water. The PA-28 unit here made enough hot water for a household with six children including bath/shower water, dishwasher and washing machine. PLUS, we heated the house with the hot water through plastic pipes in the floor. Never once, while it was working, did we want for hot water.
HOWEVER, they don't last very long. Since 2001, when we had the first one installed, we've had to replace the unit twice. Now, Nov 2010, the one we have has failed and needs to be replaced again! The first two times the housing surrounding the heating elements cracked, causing leaking and water damage (not covered by Seisco). This time, the electronics board seems to have gone bad.
I'M NOT SAVING ANY MONEY ANY MORE. Since the original warranty is long gone, I'm stuck having to replace the unit every 2 to 3 years. Not good.

You don't need to drain it so I don't know what the previous review was talking about. It is self - evaporating and uses it's own water cond. to cool itself. The window mount it much better then my LG's too. It's a very stylish and a small box AC that works wonderful and keeps me less stressed at night worrying about the comfort of my 18 month old at night. I have a thermostat reading in my room that tells me the temp in his room and this AC keep it exactly at what I wanted it to. Love it so far and recommend for sure!

I contacted the manufacturer and after about three emails which were not answered promptly, they said they would replace it. A month or so later, I received a replacement. I've had the replacement heater for less than a week now and it too is acting up. I had to use the reset button this morning to get it going. While I was waiting for the replacement, I bought a Lasko Ceramic Heater Model 758000 from Amazon.com. I've had it for about a month now and am happy with it. Both the Fahrenheat and the Lasko were about the same price. Both are 1500 watts. The Lasko is a better heater. I cannot recommend the Fahrenheat because it is not reliable.

Now there is warm water instantly and hot water is just seconds behind. It has been extremely nice this winter, avoiding freezing water from the tap.
Cheaper recirculating pumps utilize a a plastic valve under the sink that will wear out and need replacement. The body of the valve in this pump is brass and looks like it will last for a very long time.

This Lasko model 2155A window fan - also sold as the Air King model 9155 - is a real blessing for me. I live in the deep South (Georgia) where the oppressive summer heat index (high heat + near-100%-humidity) often reaches into the 130s and above - and I don't have air conditioning. For me, a large whole-house window fan like this one makes all the difference between comfort and living hell when July and August roll around (it's July 27th as I write this, and I'm sitting right next to the window with the fan in it).
This is truly a WHOLE-HOUSE window fan, and it costs so much less to operate than an air conditioner. Compared with central A/C, I'm saving over a hundred dollars a month, which is over $600 a year EVERY YEAR. That's money better spent elsewhere! With this high-volume fan, I get my whole house cooled, without the $150+ monthly electricity usage of central A/C. This fan paid for itself in the first month.
Also, I've found that as I've gotten used to not having A/C, I enjoy the summers more and I'm not nearly as lethargic and short-tempered when I'm in a place without air conditioning, anywhere from the supermarket parking lot to a cookout. It all makes me wonder, WHY would I pay $150+ per month and end up so dependent on air conditioning that I can't be happy enjoying the great outdoors in the summer?! It's all a question of what your body gets acclimated to.
For the hottest summer nights, you can run a little window A/C unit in your bedroom, and still save a bundle because you can use this fan for the rest of the house instead of having to pay the skyrocketing electrical cost of central A/C.
PROS:
* Cost-efficient to operate - this fan moves 2470 CFM (cubic feet of air per minute) on only 90 watts - compare that with the larger 20" model (Air King model #9166) which moves 3560 CFM on 170 watts - an 89% power increase for just a 44% airflow increase...makes sense to just buy two of these 16" Lasko 2155A/Air King 9155 units instead...you get twice the airflow, not 44% more - and you get it for only ten watts more
* Moves a LOT of air - more than a 20" box fan, more than anything sold at Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware, True Value, the drugstore, or anywhere else I looked
* Fused 3-prong grounded safety plug
* Versatile installation options
* 3 speeds instead of 2 or just on/off
* Electrically reversible for intake and exhaust - a big plus, since I want to be able to exhaust hot air during the day and then reverse it to bring in cool air at night...without having to de-install it and manually flip the whole unit around like you do with some other' brands fans (AHEM!)
* Quieter compared to the old metal-bladed fans from years past, which sounded like airplane propellers
* Made in the USA by our friends and neighbors and fellow countrymen, not in some Chinese sweatshop
NEUTRALS:
* Construction feels a bit flimsy...everything is plastic, except the interior side's safety grille - BUT, this is basically irrelevant, because after it's in the window, it just sits there, and plastic does just as good a job of sitting in a window as metal. And, on the bright side, it's more lightweight than a metal fan would be, making it easier to install and to store in the attic or basement at the end of the season
* Don't expect it to be silent on the highest speed, there is some wind noise...but that's not the fault of the fan, and there's nothing anyone can do about it...moving large volumes of air at a high rate of speed DOES entail noise, no matter what, so you can't fault the fan or the manufacturer for that
* Pricey - for nearly-all-plastic construction, and only a 50% (maximum) airflow improvement over an $18 Wal-Mart box fan, I felt that the cost of $50-$100 was a bit high...would rather see it around $35-$40 - BUT, in the end, it DOES move more air than the $18 box fan, and has some features that make it worth the cost (electrically reversible intake/exhaust, less noise, expanding side panels to give it a perfect fit with any size window, fused safety plug, Storm Guard feature, etc.) - and given that there's basically no competition in the field any more due to the prevalence of air conditioning, I can't expect pricing to be at super-low highly-competitive rates
CONS:
* Switch knob kept popping off...had to tighten up the screws under it and then put a dab of Krazy Glue on it (but that solved it)
* Not widely available in stores - because air conditioners' prices have come down so much in the last 15-20 years, the demand for genuine whole-house window fans has gone way down, meaning that this fan is usually a special-order or online-only item, either of which generally entail waiting times and shipping costs (though your local Grainger branch may have one of the ones relabeled Air King in stock)

All in all, I am being really unfairly picky here, and I think this is a fabulous product that I sincerely hope doesn't get discontinued. It's the right unit for the job, it looks good, and it does a better (and quieter) job that the all-metal models from years past. It's also very energy-efficient. Of what's available on the market in 2009, it is the best of the best, hands down, nothing else even comes close. I have ZERO "buyer's remorse" about this purchase, and would champion its virtues to anyone considering buying one. A great product!

Anyone who wants heat without toxic fumes, this is your best bet. The hydronic core means heat is spread over the area of the pipe, so it doesn't burn dust like the cheaper electrics. The only major outgassing is from some rubber cushions between the pipes and the supports, and from some warning stickers. Removing the cushions is not hard if you have a screw driver. I know someone with severe chemical sensitivities who uses these after washing all of it with soap and pressure hose, then after it's dry running it outdoors for a couple hours to get rid of remaining fumes. If you are less sensitive just remove the cushions and keep the windows open the first hour or so.

(More customer reviews)Purchased for $[...] including shipping. Was a bit unsure at first about the quality/durability at this price. It is now set up and in use and all my concerns were unfounded. This is a relatively new pool design and it is really ingenious. Assembly is straightforward, instructions quite clear, no missing parts and the fit and finish were excellent. Really exceeded my expectation honestly. Best for a family with kids who want to get a fairly large pool up very quickly that should last 5 - 10 years with proper care. Everything needed is included in this package and the pump, filter and chorine generator are adequate for the pool size. The whole pool is assembled with not bolts or screws. You will need blocks to level with the ground for each leg and this can take a couple of hours to do. I would suggest 2 2x6x16" boards side by side rather than patio blocks. Cheaper, more durable, easier to set and easier on the vinyl retainers. At this price I would really be surprised if anyone would be disappointed unless they just didn't understand the different types of pools. I am updating this review after owning the pool for two seasons. I noticed that people are complaining about difficulty taking the pool down for the winter. The simple solution is don't!!! There is no reason to take it down. Just make sure you reomoved the valves and fittings from the side of liner, remove the interior plugs (leave the exerior caps on), and cover it. This will drain the pool a few inches but you just fill it up in the Spring. Whatever wear and tear you think you are saving by trearing it down for the Winter is misguided. The pool can easily withstand the cold weather is closed as indicated above. It is much harder on the liner and frame to take it down with all the prying it off the frame (which would get scratched and eventually rust then) and dragging it around. I hope this helps someone avoid a lot of hard, discouraging work for nothing. I would also strongly suggest getting a sand filter for the pool too. It will save you a lot of time and trouble keeping it clean. Another trick it to make a "bottom drain" by using a 3x3x2" or 3x3x1 1/2" PVC tee with PVC drain grates glued into each 3" end and a hoe barb fitting in the small hole. You can then connect this to the inlet and pull water from the bottom which works better for opening the pool. Once it is clear you can probably just stick with the skimmer for the season.

(More customer reviews)I am a general contractor and have used an on-demand tankless water heater in my 3200 square foot home since I built it in 1984, when few people in the US had tankless water heaters. That first LP heater served my family well, but it required a pilot light that was always on and it used a rubber diaphragm to turn the heater on. The diaphragm had to be replaced every three or four years. That heater was made in the UK and getting repair parts and someone who could do the repairs was problematic. About three years ago, I replaced it with a Takagi T-K Jr-LP Liquid Propane Flash Liquid Propane Compact Tan. It uses a different sensing method and it ignites using an electronic starter. Installation was fairly simple for me, so I did the ventilation, plumbing, and electrical work myself. The only complication was the addition of a 115 VAC outlet to the heater closet because the Takagi T-K Jr LP requires an electrical hookup to power its computerized controller. The heater also must be properly vented to outside air, so, to meet building code where I live, I also had to buy and install a stainless steel vent through the roof. The venting materials can cost almost as much as the heater depending on where the heater is installed. NOTE: More than likely, you should hire a licensed contractor to do the installation to ensure that the job is done correctly (according to code requirements where it is to be used) and for safety. The Takagi T-K Jr was definitely a very good buy and I have confidently recommended it to my friends and will continue to do so.

(More customer reviews)Little did I know when I purchased these toe warmers for our ski trip, that my husband had bought battery powered socks already. Day 1: below zero. Tried the battery socks. Froze! Day 2: below zero. Forget the battery socks! Wore thin socks, with one toe warmer stuck under my toes, and one on top of my toes, then a heavier pair of socks over that. My feet were sweating! At lunch, I completely dried the socks on my left foot & removed the toe warmers; while keeping my right foot just as it was- wet with 2 warmers. Didn't take long for the left foot to freeze.
Long story short.... I wouldn't cold weather ski without these again! My toes are ALWAYS cold anyway. The warmers have an adhesive strip that you attach to your sock. Product is thin enough that you won't even really notice it in a ski boot. You can wear it either under or above your toes, but one warmer per foot is enough. My toes were still a little cold, but not frozen & uncomfortable. And they really do last all day.

Rinnai ES38-P Direct Vent Wall Furnace, Propane Review

(More customer reviews)The Rinnai ES38 wall furnace ordered from Amazon arrived approximately one week later and had sustained significant shipping damage. Amazon and UPS were notified and the stove was sent back. A second unit was ordered a few days later and arrived shortly thereafter. It had also sustained significant shipping damage and was sent back. Both of these units were shipped UPS Ground - Super Saver Free Shipping. Amazon / UPS were both very good with regard to prompt action and refunds were timely.
A third Unit was ordered from another vendor in Pennsylvania and was shipped truck freight. It arrived 2 days later and was in perfect condition.
These Unit are fragile and easily damaged (based upon my experience). I was told that Amazon now ships these units truck freight but did not verify this. I would recommend you check with seller to discuss shipping method - recommend Truck Freight.
With regard to the Rinnai ES38 wall furnace, you will probably need to have a professional install it unless you are comfortable with flaring copper tubing, working with propane supply line installation, cutting a 3" hole through the side of your house to install the flu assembly and possibly measuring the propane supply line pressure with a manometer. Sounds like a job for a good handyman. The manual can be downloaded from the web before you purchase to help you decide about your installation and how much help you will need. Read the installation instructions carefully and be sure to use the installation template provided.
Once installed, the wall furnace fired up with no problems and runs like a champ. It is relatively quiet with heat being discharged from the lower portion of the front panel. Room temperature control is excellent. Controls are well placed and simple to operate and the Unit (mine is Beige) looks good. The permanent air filters are well designed and easy to clean and the built in humidifier should come in handy during the dry winter months. I would recommend purchase of this Unit to others.

(More customer reviews)I received my order of 5 Honeywell TL8230A1003 Electric Heat Thermostat Line Voltage Digital 7 day programmable thermostats one week after I placed the order. The units arrived well packaged, are solidly built and are much nicer and smaller than they appear onscreen. I had a licensed electrician install all 5 a week ago, replacing my 25-year-old units. The electrician had never seen this particular thermostat before, but because of the straightforward installation guide coupled with his experience, it only took about 20 minutes to install the first unit, and about 15 for each of the remaining 4. Within minutes I had them all programmed!
The Honeywell TL8230A1003 Electric Heat Thermostat Line Voltage Digital 7 day programmable thermostats are incredibly easy to program, and have icons that correspond to different functions (i.e., comfort mode, night mode, away/vacation, manual, etc.). I consider myself to be very "tech-savvy" and don't like to read manuals if I don't have to. With this product, I was able to figure out how to use every function, with minimal time, and without having to study the instructions (which, by the way, is just a front-to-back insert). Further, because they are connected to the heating unit power supply, there are no batteries to change. The only down side to this is that in the event of a power outage, I believe all the programming will need to re-done. Still, it's a minor inconvenience.
The most wonderful thing about these thermostats is the ability to program 4 different times for each day of the week. Though they come pre-programmed, re-programming is completely customizable. For example, for Monday and Tuesday, I can set the three downstairs units to come on at 5AM, go off just before I leave home, come on again an hour before I return and go off again an hour after I go to bed. I set the living room and dining room units to only come on in the evening. For Saturday, I program a totally different set of times, and on Sunday, yet another set of times. The thermostat also has an "On/Off" switch that allows me to turn them off if I don't want the timed setting(s) to come on, as well as a "manual" function that allows me to completely override the programmed setting and increase or decrease the desired temperature. The thermostat is also EXTREMELY QUIET when switching on and off in timed modes, and has a backlighting feature accessible by a long bar-type button on the face of the unit - perfect for checking temps in the dark. Each of the setting buttons is made of non-slip rubber so fingers won't accidentally slide off during programming. The buttons are small, though, and there is no backlighting for the buttons. The only caveat is to be careful not to press the "clear" button unless you actually WANT to clear a setting. This button is not in a separate area of the unit, and I inadvertently cleared one of the programmed times.
All in all, I am very satisfied with this product. What a great feeling to wake up in the morning or come home in the evening to a warm home! And the cost savings as a result of being able to use heat only when and where I need it are sure to be another benefit. I'm so pleased with these new thermostats that I've recommended them to two of my neighbors/friends, and I expect that they will purchase new sets within the next couple of weeks!
